Simone Walsh: jewellery & object artist

Photograph of Simone Walsh (taken by my nifty MacBook Pro!).I’m an indie designer who creates handmade jewelry and art objects, mostly in metal (and mostly in sterling silver), but also in other diverse materials.

I love handmade and clever things. And I like to blog about my own jewelry making and other arty endeavours, indie design, contemporary craft, visual arts, handmade shopping finds … and anything else I fancy sharing.

I create a range of handmade jewelry which I sell via retail outlets as well as through my own handmade jewelry shops online, each of which currently features some different pieces of my jewelry:

I also exhibit one off pieces of small sculpture and wearable art whenever I have the capacity and opportunity. Find out more about the one off jewellery and objects I’ve made over the years.

And I also work as a web and graphic designer.

Up until recently I’ve been the editor of the Jewellers & Metalsmiths Group of Australia - NSW’s quarterly newsletter, but have needed to resign from that role due to generally having too much else to do. However, I’m still JMGA-NSW’s website person and a Committee member for now.

(yep, I’m busy!)

On my website you can see examples of my jewelry and art objects as well as find out more about me.

Contact me if you have any queries about me or my work.

PS. If you’re wondering why often I spell ‘jewellery’ as ‘jewelry’, it’s to help make me more findable in search engines, given that most of the English speaking world spells the word ‘jewellery’, while Americans - who make up a major part of my business - spell it ‘jewelry’. So, yes, I really do know how to spell as much as it might look like I’m confused!
